On Thursday the 9th of November, 2006 we observed the transit of Mercury across the face of the Sun. In the photos there is a large sunspot as well (top left) with Mercury at the lower right. The next transit by Mercury is in 2016, but the next one visible from Western Australia is not until 2032 !
